Bruce C. Pollock, JD, MBA, AVA
Mr. Pollock is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Valuations, Inc. For approximately 20 years prior to founding Enterprise Valuations, Mr. Pollock served as the chief financial officer for several high technology companies, including public companies Avanex Corporation, Walker Interactive Systems Inc. and VMX, Inc and private companies WaveSplitter Technologies, Opcom and Reel.com. He has also served as a financial advisor for a number of earlier-stage, venture-funded technology companies on a consulting basis.
Mr. Pollock’s industry experience includes telecommunications systems, enterprise software, Internet commerce, software as a service, optical components and subsystems and wireless software and infrastructure. He has extensive experience in corporate finance (including venture capital financing, private equity and IPOs) as well as mergers and acquisitions, having negotiated and closed numerous M&A transactions, both as a buyer and a seller. Mr. Pollock has had a leading role in several senior management teams and has worked extensively with company boards of directors, investment bankers, venture capitalists, commercial bankers, Big 4 accountants and senior legal counsel.
Since founding Enterprise Valuations in early 2006, Mr. Pollock has prepared and overseen hundreds of IRC 409A and FAS 123(R) private company common stock valuations.
Mr. Pollock holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington, an MBA degree from the Haas School of Business (UC Berkeley) and a JD degree from Boalt Hall Law School (UC Berkeley). He is a member of the California Bar and is an Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA).
Ronald H. Schmidt, Ph.D., AVA
Dr. Schmidt is a Senior Valuation Consultant with Enterprise Valuations, Inc., and a Principal at Finance Scholars Group. He is an expert in business valuation, economic analysis, and damages estimation. He has served as a valuation expert in legal disputes and has extensive experience in the preparation of common stock valuations for purposes of IRC 409A and FAS 123(R). Dr. Schmidt has served as a court-appointed appraiser and has testified in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. He has valued the businesses and equity securities of many privately held firms across a broad spectrum of industries. He also has provided consulting services to industry groups in estimating the economic impact of public policy initiatives and the economic contribution of selected industries to particular regions.
Prior to joining Finance Scholars Group, Dr. Schmidt was a Principal at LECG, LLC and served as a consultant to numerous private and public clients. Previously, he was a Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Banks of Dallas and San Francisco, where he published extensively in the areas of energy, water, transportation, and regional economics and provided advice regarding monetary policy.
Dr. Schmidt has taught graduate-level finance and management courses at Santa Clara University’s Levy School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. and MS in Economics from the University of Wisconsin and a BA degree from the University of California at Davis. Dr. Schmidt is an Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA).
Gregory J. Nachtwey.
Greg Nachtwey is a Director for LECG LLC where he specializes in corporate finance and business valuation matters. He has performed and reviewed hundreds of valuations of business entities for mergers & acquisitions, management and shareholder buy-outs, management performance analysis, Employee Stock Ownership Plans, ERISA, federal taxation, and litigation matters. Valuation engagements have been performed for a broad variety of industries as well as for firms ranging from Fortune 500 companies to very early stage ventures.
Mr. Nachtwey has provided testimony as an expert witness for business valuation issues in Federal, State and Tax Court jurisdictions. In addition to being retained by numerous private clients, institutional investors and major law firms, he has also been retained by the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Nachtwey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Mr. Nachtwey has taught graduate courses in corporation finance and business valuation at the Haas School of Business (UC Berkeley).
